Recognise outstanding community engagement with the 2017 NSW International Student Awards – nominations now open
Studying a degree abroad at one of Australia’s prestigious
educational institutions requires hard work and self-discipline. Engaging in
extracurricular activities on top of your studies can be even harder. To
acknowledge exceptional NSW-based
international scholars, as well as the organisations that support them,
nominations for the 2017 NSW International Student Awards are now open!
These awards shine a spotlight on those individuals and teams going above and beyond in their community,
and also recognise the
vital involvement of educational institutions, local organisations and
community groups that enable connections to flourish.
Comprised of two
categories, the first of the Awards provide an opportunity for NSW higher
education institutions to recognise students for their exemplary community
engagement, adding value and being an all-round inspirational role model. The
second category identifies program enabling connections between international
students and their community, deemed to have contributed to improved engagement
over a period of 12 months (from 1 March 2016).
His Excellency General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC
(Ret'd), Governor of New South Wales, will host an awards ceremony at NSW
Government House in Sydney on Friday 22 September 2017 to officially announced
the winners for both categories.
For the first time, the award winners will receive a cash
prize to put towards study and living expenses or towards the winning
initiative or program, conditional to the category.
Nominations will close at 5 pm AEST, Monday 5 June 2017.
